This notice explains how we handle your data when you subscribe to the SIAG/SC Announcements mailing list. It covers only this mailing list. For SIAM's general privacy practices, see the SIAM Privacy Policy.

Who is responsible

The SIAM Activity Group on Supercomputing (SIAG/SC) is responsible for this mailing list. You can contact us at committee@siag-sc.org.

What we collect

Only your email address, plus the date, time and IP address of your subscription. These are recorded automatically as proof that you consented, as required under the GDPR.

We do not ask for your name, institution, or any other information.

What we use it for

To send you announcements from SIAG/SC, such as about our webinars: one to two emails per month.

We do not use your address for any other purpose, and we do not share, sell, or transfer it to anyone outside the processing described below.

Our legal basis

Your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the signup form and confirming via the email we send you. You can withdraw it at any time (see below).

Who processes it

We use MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, Ireland) to manage the list and send the emails. Your data is stored within the European Union, in data centres certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, and does not leave it.

If we ever move to a different provider, we may temporarily hold a copy of the list ourselves in order to transfer it.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe; if you do, we delete your address from our records. We may also delete your address if it appears no longer in use.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email we send.

You also have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
